Andesite is a type of volcanic frozen rock, extrusive, intermediate composition, with afanitic to porphyritic textures. In a general sense, the Andesite is a transitional type between the basal and the dacite, with the range of silicon dioxide (SiO2) being 57-63% as illustrated in the TAS diagram.
